Sue is a highly experienced Museum Curator and Manager with over forty years' experience, the Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies (with English Local History) from the University of Leicester, the Diploma of the Museums Association and a Masters degree in Museum and Gallery Management. Sophie recently graduated from Goldsmith's College, University of London, with an MA in Anthropology and Museum Practice. She was awarded a distinction.

During Sue's time in London, she has built up a network of useful contacts in the sector plus expertise regarding cataloguing, care and conservation of collections, storage of exhibits under appropriate conditions and setting up of displays and exhibitions. Sophie has worked at the Horniman Museum and brings to curatorial work organisational and analytical skills acquired during several years working in PA roles. She is studying to qualify as an Associate of the Museums Association.

Sue also sometimes advises those with large private collections including large libraries of books, historical artefacts, vintage clothing and furniture, artworks and portraits. She occasionally works with APDO colleagues whose clients have possessions that need to go to auction or may be of interest to museums or art galleries.

Sue has lived in NW London for almost 25 years and is familiar with both local and London-wide museums, galleries, heritage-related organisations and relevant charities and businesses. Sophie is based in SE London.

Sue set up SORT & SURVIVE as a sole trader business in 2015. From 2016 - 2017 Sue successfully managed the sorting, cataloguing and packing and decant of a major East London museum collection (archaeology, art, local and social history, textiles and ceramics) completed on time and within budget. From 2020 - 2023 she worked on the sorting and cataloging of a business archive of a family run building supplier and served as a member of the editorial team for the business history produced to mark the company's 200th anniversary. Sue and Sophie met whilst working at Walthamstow on a museum collections relocation in January 2024 and set up SORT & SURVIVE LTD in October 2024.

Sue and Sophie are able to quickly understand complex work issues and environments and lead change in consultation with stakeholders.

Sue has curated many exhibitions including Great Bridges of the World at Tower Bridge and numerous community-linked displays for local museums and historic buildings.
